SDating back to 1222, the University of Padova (UNIPD) is one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious seats of learning. UNIPD offers its students 32 departments, 37 doctoral degree courses activated this year, 2 international doctoral degree courses and 44 research and service centres across the spectrum of sciences, medicine, social sciences and humanities. UNIPD is one of the first subscribers of the Statement of Commitment for the implementation of the European Charter of Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (C&C). The University was rewarded with the ‘HR Excellence in Research’ logo by the European Commission on the 27th, February 2012. The logo has been displayed on the UNIPD homepage since the beginning of March 2012. The International Research Office of UNIPD is a Euraxess Contact Point and a reference point for departments, research centres that intend to make use of EU and international funds for research projects. The report issued by the National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes set the University of Padova as the highest ranking among leading Italian Universities for the quality of its research results for the period 2011 - 2014. The Department of Philoshophy, Sociology, Education and Applied Psychology (FISPPA Department) was established on January the 1st 2012, it brings together scholars from various fields with the aim of developing interdisciplinary analyses of human experience in social contexts. Research topics mainly cover inter-cultural problems, analysis of social, educational and psychological processes in highly complex societies, individual choices and practices in socio-historical and cultural contexts. Michele Biasutti, Full Professor at Padova University, is scientific Director of research projects financed by EU Institutions and worked in project evaluation for international organisations such as UNESCO. He built quantitative tools that were published in impact factor journals such as Environmental Education Research, Computers & Education, Creativity Research Journal and others. Member of the editorial board of journals (Journal of Teacher Education for Sustainability, Frontiers in Psychology, International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education; Sustainability), he was conference director and author of eight books and more than 200 articles, chapters and conference proceedings papers. Associate Professor Corrado Petrucco, FISPPA Department
Corrado Petrucco is an Associate Professor of Educational Technology at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Applied Psychology (FISPPA) at the University of Padua, where he teaches Training Technologies. His research interests concern: Digital Storytelling, Information Literacy and Digital competencies, social software. In particular he studies the emerging practices of students and adults when they seek, build and share knowledge online (Wiki, Wikipedia) through collaborative spaces both in formal and informal contexts with textual and video mediums. He introduced the theme of Digital Storytelling in Italy and studies its processes also in the transmedia field. He has published two books on the subject: Narrare con il Digital Storytelling, 2009; Digital narratives for education and training, 2013.
