Opening session

The meeting was chaired by Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek from University of Sakarya. The meeting which was held online through Google Meeting platform. In his welcoming words, he wished everyone a healthy day. Following the opening session, Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek read the agenda.

COVID-19 Restrictions and IP’s

Prof.Dr. Carlos Sousa de Reisfrom Portugal informed the participants about the flight restrictions to Portugal where IP’s are considered to be carried out if the situation worsens in Turkey. He also added that it would be better to make the final decision during the meeting in June. Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek gave information about the vaccinations in Turkey which are expected to be completed for academicians by September. He also asked the partners about their opinions on IP’s. Prof.Dr. David Rae said that it was too early to make an assumption. He added that they had to act based on institutional policies. Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek suggested that each participant should ask their institutions about the possibility of conducting IP’s in September (between 5th and 11th or 12th to 18th) at Coimbra University in Portugal and inform the coordinator. Prof.Dr. Michelle Biasutti suggested to conduct IP’s in October but Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek said that conducting them before the opening of universities would be better. Prof.Dr. Carlos Sousa de Reis added that it would be better to organize them early in September before the classes start. It was also pointed out that if it were not possible to carry out IP’s face to face because of the restrictions, they would be next year by Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek.

E-book on creativity and entrepreneurship

Prof.Dr. David Rae firstly thanked to the participants who contributed to the book giving chapter proposals. He shared the time schedule for the publication process and gave its details. Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek stated that the publication process of the book should be completed before project is completed and David Rae said that the process could be revised accordingly. Prof.Dr. Michelle Biasutti wanted to learn whether the chapters would be just literature review or empirical. Prof.Dr. David Rae replied that methods would be possible. Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek suggested that each partner should prepare two chapters for the book one of which is on creativity and the other one is on entrepreneurship. Prof.Dr. Carlos Sousa Reis shared his opinions on the chapters and suggested some ideas for chapters. Prof.Dr. Michelle Biasutti asked about the review process and he wanted to know if there would be external reviewers or internal ones (within the project group). Prof.Dr. David Rae replied that it could be possible to have external reviewers if chapters are completed earlier than the deadlines. He also added that once the chapter proposal are ready, they could be presented to prospective publishers such as Emerald, Routledge, Springer etc. Prof.Dr. Carlos Sousa de Reis suggested that it could be possible to publish it from University of Coimbra Press without paying a charge. Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek pointed that author guidelines should be sent to participants who proposed chapters.

Conclusion

Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek thanked all the participants for their attention. He also asked them about the next meeting date. The participants agreed on 18th of June (at 17.00 p.m.) for the next meeting. He stated that the agenda of this meeting would be research process, IP’s, and book chapters during this meeting. Assoc. Prof.Dr. Mustafa Bayrakcı added that he prepared a table for the topics of IP’s and the participants could see it on basecamp. The participants could add their topic proposals on that table if they wanted. Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek reminded the participants the webpage address of the project and wanted them to visit the page. He wanted partners to share their ideas and suggestions on the webpage (www.beyondthelimitsproject.sakarya.edu.tr). He also informed the participants about social-media accounts of the project. Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek concluded the issues discussed during the meeting and he thanked all the participants.
