DETAILS

1. Opening session

The meeting was chaired by Prof.Dr. Osman Titrek from University of Sakarya. The partners present at the meeting are listed above. In his welcoming words, he wished everyone a healthy day. He asked the attendances whether they would like to say something to others. He asked the condition of the country related about Covid-19 pandemic . Does the situation turn back normal? Prof. Titrek said that it would be a short meeting. Following the opening session, Titrek read the agenda. The meeting focused on need analysis, e-book chapters and IP program.

2. Need analysis – Collecting Data

Prof. Dr. Osman Titrek, reminded the research group members that the students should fill in the scale. According to the statistical methodology, the number of samples should be more than 300 from each country. On this subject, Prof. David said “I would like to speak first. It is clear Osman but it does not make it easy. I'm dealing with a lot of projects right now and there are satisfaction forms that students have to fill out. These forms are really important for the university. Apart from that, students also have priorities. Filling the scales of the students does not provide them any benefit, so it is not a priority for them to fill out these forms. In this case, there is no reinforcement for them to fill out these forms.” Prof. Dr. Osman said “Last term, I made a request to the rectorship authority on behalf of the project. The Rectorate has the authority to send e-mails to all university students. The scale prepared for this project was sent to all Sakarya University students via email. Thus, students from all departments of Sakarya University completed this scale. You can do the same at your own university. As the project coordinator, you can email all university students and have them fill out this scale.” Prof. Regina Frank said that “I tried that I visited innovation center and asked the colleague to send an email all the students. But I am not sure because of our university, the students did not react much to this email. This is of course cannot be excuse. Maybe a new scale update is needed.” Prof. Dr. Carlos said that “I don’t think so we need to revise a new version for the scale. I don't know if it will work for you, but it worked for us. We asked the rector for permission to collect data and we said that our university was also involved in this project. We said that such data should be collected from the whole university. We also included students’ associations in this project. Students’ associations at our university are very strong. Apart from this, our one-to-one contact with the departments and providing information about this project enabled them to contribute to the project. Also, it can sometimes work in personal relationships. You can also meet individually with academicians or research assistants you know in other departments and get support from them in collecting data.” Prof. Regina talked about the issue “Data is collected from each country, but most of the students of our university have different nationalities. Will that be a problem?" Prof. Dr. Carlos said that “We can ask Enrico to break down the results from each country by country. The data collected only shows which country it came from. We do not collect any data on the nationality of people. The data will not show the originality of the students. This will not be issue for the research” Prof. Dr. Osman stated that some people do not follow the meetings regularly, which is a real problem. He suggested that we could hold a meeting in Italy at the end of May. This meeting can be in CSCS, all data should be collected before this meeting. We can review all the data together” Prof. Dr. Michele asked that “This meeting will be before Granada?” Prof. Dr. Osman said “Yes, we have to come together to get further step. I have to present in term report in May. But still we have to complete more things. We almost did two jobs; one was the first IP program and the second was the video records. I have to create a report that shows all the activities were done. Each university has its own structure related to data collection. I don't know the structure of your university, but it definitely has a unique order and I think you can collect data by acting accordingly. We have three months, during this time, please try to increase the number of data. Let's get this done by the end of May. Let's prepare a national data paper in June. That's my opinion, let's meet at the end of May or early June or arrive in Granada a day or two earlier and we can study on these issues together. What do you think?” Prof. Dr. Carlos said that “I think it is a good idea and it is a good timing.” Prof. Dr. Osman asked that who will be keynote speakers? David and Malcolm from England side, Michele from Italian side might be? This is also important for dissemination activity. Please inform me and send me a short CV and a picture. I will also ask James Kaufman, if he says Yes, also we will host him in Granada. This year, a main topic is creativity and next year a main topic is entrepreneurship in education. Therefore, a keynote speaker should prepare a speech on creativity in education. Is it OK? The other issue is book chapters.” Prof. Dr. Osman Titrek moved the topic, book chapters.

3. Book chapters

Prof. Dr. Osman Titrek asked all participants about the book chapters, whether there are any issues or problems. He asked David “who sent you book chapters?” David talked about “This afternoon he got a lovely book chapter from Michele. We have seven draft chapters so far. If we need 16, that’s not quite high. We need nine more. Two chapter from Malcolm and me, one from Sakarya, one from CSCS, one from Albertina.” Prof. Dr. Osman asked Prof. Dr. David “please inform us which chapters completed form which countries and whom write?” Prof. Dr. Mustafa said that his chapter is almost ready and he is going to send it on Monday. Prof. Dr. Osman asked “Felix and Linda what is the situation. We have to complete the book chapters at the end of April. This is import because on May I have to present on a report. And I want to say the book chapters are ready as draft. We have to show something EU. We need to do this to get the 2nd part of the money. I sent you the email EU sent me. It was written that if we apply for Part 2 of the money in May, we can only get it in August. Process will continue three months. They will check us and they want to see the proofs.” Prof. Dr. Osman mentioned that “I wrote an email to everyone. There is money for the transnational meeting in the project. This money covers two people. It costs 575 Euros for each person. Only two people can attend each meeting. 575 Euros for one and 575 Euros for the other, the total amounts for transnational meeting is 1150 Euros. We also have management and implementation budget. It is 8000 Euros and we can transfer 15% of this budget to other section of the project if it is necessary. It means that you can transfer 1200 Euros. But you have to have a logical reason. There is another issue” Prof. Dr. Osman Titrek closed the discussion on book chapters and requested from others to make dissemination about IP program on your university web pages. Linda, you sent me but I couldn’t find that email, please send me again.” Prof. Dr. Carlos said that “our dissemination is still on the web page. You can see it today.” The next topic is about ICLEL conference and Granada Project Meeting.

4. Planning Granada Project Meeting

Prof. Dr. Osman sent ICLEL conference poster to all project members and asked them to disseminate ICLEL conference posters around the campus. Prof. Dr. Osman said that he is going to go to Granada in July, 2nd on Saturday. He would like to do the project meeting date on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday will be ICLEL conference days. If there is a large participation, the conference will continue on Thursday. If there are not many people, we will go to Alhambra on Thursday. If necessary, we'll have the last meeting on Thursday afternoon. If the meeting we held on Sunday and Monday is not sufficient, we will continue the meeting on Thursday afternoon. And Friday and Saturday, if possible I would like to visit Cordoba and Sevilla, a little touristic. And Sunday I will return. This is my plan. That’s why I will go to 2nd July and I will return 10th July. I would like to remind that two people form each university can attend for transnational meeting and for each person 575 Euros will be paid.

5. Next IP Program at Liepaja University

Prof. Dr. Osman said that Liepaja IP program on September 19th to 23rd will be online education, 25th September to 2nd October will be face-to-face education. We have the right to bring 2 academicians and 5 students for this meeting. Each partner can bring 7 people. The topic of the IP program will be entrepreneurship. Teachers and students should focus on entrepreneurship. Michele brought one person less in the last IP program. This time for the IP program he can bring an extra person to the program. But first we need to ask EU about it. Also, if there are any missing students from other partners, please let us know. Therefore, we can ask other partners to bring more students. Please start identifying students for the IP program now.

6. Planning the Next Meeting DateUniversity

Prof. Dr. Osman said that “I think Friday is not the best for someone because Granada and CSCS is not here today. What do you think?” Prof. Dr. Linda said that which day do you think? Prof. Dr. Osman said that April 13 or 20 could be. Prof. Dr. Linda said that they will not be available on April 20th. We will be away during all this week.” Prof. Dr. Carlos said that I am not also available on 24th to 30th April. I have a staff teaching Erasmus mission. Michele and Regina said that Friday is OK. Prof. Dr. Osman said Friday is OK but not for CSCS and Granada. Maybe we should put the meeting time forward.” Regina said that we should arrange the meeting time in regular. After long discussion between the partners, they decided to hold the next meeting on 29 April at 2 pm in Istanbul time. David said that Regina has a good idea. If we fix the meeting time as the last Friday of every month, the time of each meeting will be clear. It may not be the perfect time, but each meeting is timed. We make our plans accordingly, which allows us to be better coordinated when scheduling. Because we all have other projects, other events and other commitments going on. But if it is in the dairy, it is much easier to work with. Need analysis issue still not resolved. That's why Carlos is important to us. Carlos will not be able to attend the next meeting. Then Teresa will attend the meeting instead of.

7. Conclusion

Prof. Dr. Osman Titrek thanked all the participants, arranged the next meeting date and wished a nice healthy day.
